Taylor G. Wright, DPM

Board-Qualified Podiatrist

Dr. Taylor G Wright was born and raised in Draper, Utah. He grew up in a family of 13 children – 10 boys and 3 girls – all from the same mother and father. He is very proud and grateful for having been raised in such an environment where attributes of hard work and service were not only expected, but were exemplified by his parents.

He grew up in a family where classical music was of prime emphasis and each child was expected to learn the piano as well as an additional musical instrument. Dr. Wright is a concert cellist and has played with many string quartets, orchestras, and surrounding symphonic groups.

Dr. Wright feels fortunate to have spent time in his youth being able to roam the hills of Draper and the surrounding Wasatch mountains. Like many others in Utah, he grew up backpacking and camping and spent a large amount of time fly fishing and skiing with his brothers. Dr. Wright continues to enjoy backpacking once a year with all his brothers. He also loves golf and states there’s no better group of people to play with than his father and brothers.

Dr. Wright attended Alta High School in Sandy, Utah and served two years as an LDS missionary in the Fort Worth, TX Spanish-speaking mission.

Shortly after returning from his mission, Dr. Wright was encouraged by a longtime friend to train for a series of marathons in a single year, and he took the challenge, running five marathons that year and igniting his passion for long-distance running, which now includes road biking and triathlons.

Dr. Wright has competed in 30 marathons, including the prestigious Boston Marathon. He has also participated in various triathlon events, including the inaugural St. George Ironman, which he completed while a third-year student in podiatry school. He was featured in Runner’s World magazine for running marathons while carrying the American flag, which he still continues to do. He was also sponsored by the Snickers Marathon Team during his running career.

Dr. Wright has always had a passion for medicine. He feels fortunate that he has been able to follow a path where he could combine his desire to serve and work with people, and to also be an active part in medicine that makes such a difference in the lives of his patients.

Dr. Wright attended four years at California School of Podiatric Medicine (CSPM) in San Francisco and then returned to Utah where he completed a 3-year surgical residency at Intermountain Medical Center, with an emphasis in fore foot and rear foot reconstructive surgery. As part of his medical education, Dr. Wright attended externships at Yale in New Haven, CT; Madigan Hospital at Fort Lewis McChord in Tacoma, WA; and Bay Area Kaiser in San Francisco, CA.

Dr. Wright’s love for running and medicine is surpassed only by his adoration and love for his family. He loves spending time with his wife and 2 children and especially enjoys carrying on the tradition from his childhood of wrestling with his son.
